Raise Up a Child

Recapturing the Lost Heart of Parenting

Phil Tuttle

Parenting is tough. We struggle to find the balance between love and discipline, between hands-on care and hands-off responsibility. We want our children to learn the hard lessons of life without the lessons being too hard. But how do we balance grace and high standards? When should we let our children fail instead of making decisions for them? In the story of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32), Jesus gave us a snapshot of the Father’s heart. Every parent’s patter for training a child to live in the real world is found in the way God teaches His own children.
